Final Grading and Site Prep Wrapped Up at This A-Frame Property

Final grading is one of those steps that gets overlooked - but it's honestly one of the most important parts of any site prep job. Get it wrong and you're dealing with standing water, erosion, and a yard that never quite looks right. Get it right and everything just falls into place.

Here's what we were working with - an A-frame property surrounded by mature trees, uneven ground, and areas that needed to be shaped so water moves away from the structure properly. The goal wasn't just to move dirt around. It was to set this property up so the next phase - whether that's seeding, landscaping, or hardscaping - goes smoothly.

We finished out the grading across the yard, worked around the existing trees, and made sure the slope and surface were clean and consistent. That kind of detail work is what separates a rough cut from a finished site. The railroad tie retaining wall section was left in good shape too, with the surrounding grade tied in correctly so it functions the way it should.

Drainage is the thing most people don't think about until it's already a problem. Proper finish grading directs water where it needs to go - away from foundations, away from low spots, away from problem areas. We take that seriously on every job, no matter the size.
