Fresh Grade and Sod That's Built to Last

A lot of yards look fine on the surface but have real problems underneath - low spots, poor drainage, uneven ground that holds water in all the wrong places. That's exactly the kind of yard that needs more than just new grass laid on top. It needs a proper grade first.

That's what this job was all about. Before a single roll of sod went down, we got the ground right. Grading isn't glamorous work, but it's what separates a lawn that looks good for a few weeks from one that actually performs long-term. Get the slope wrong and you're dealing with standing water, dead patches, and soggy soil every time it rains.

Once the grade was dialed in, we laid fresh sod across the front and back - tight seams, good contact with the soil, and clean edges right up to the landscaping beds and fence line. The backyard especially came together nicely. A covered patio on one side, a full iron fence perimeter, and now a thick, even lawn to match the rest of the property.

We take the finish work seriously. It's easy to rush the last steps of a job, but that's usually where things go wrong. Smooth transitions, no gaps, no mounding at the edges. Done right, this lawn is set up to drain correctly and root in strong.
